After graduating from Stanford in 2006, Sarah Hopping Veress begins her second year as a volunteer assistant throws coach.
"Sarah brings youthful energy and commitment to the program in her 2nd year on the staff. Her experience as a student athlete on the Farm provides great leadership and coaching that our runners can relate to," said The Franklin P. Johnson Director of Track and Field, Edrick Floreal.
While on the Farm, Veress was a three-time competitor in the NCAA Championships,finishing her final season as an All-American. She set the school and Pac-10 meet record in the hammer at 219-8 (66.97m) at the Pac-10 Championships in 2006.
Veress competed as a finalist at the US National Outdoor Track and Field Championships in 2006, and in 2005 helped Stanford capture the Pac-10 title with a third-place finish in the hammer.
Originally from Longmont, Colo., Veress graduated as a four-time Pac-10 AcademicAll-Conference selection with a major in Management Science and Engineering.
