2005-2006: Varsity letter. As a junior, raced in Varsity 8+ that finished second at San Diego Crew Classic and Pacific Coast Rowing Championships
2004-2005: Varsity letter. 7-seat of Varsity 8+ that wins San Diego Crew Classic, Pacific Coast Rowing Championships, and finishes 5th at nationals.
2003-2004: Walks on to Lightweight Rowing team as a freshman. Bow seat of 2004 Novice 8+.
High School: Two years on high school tennis team. Four years as an equestrian. AP Scholar with Distinction. Graduated Cum Laude. Received The Vanderbilt Book Award for writing in junior year.
Personal: Earth Systems major with Japanese minor. Studied in Kyoto, Japan in fall of 2005. Undergraduate Housing Committee member. Post-grad plans include working outdoors and having fun. Spent last summer electrofishing for bull trout as a fisheries intern for the Forest Service in Fairfield, Idaho. Favorite book is Shogun. Favorite class at Stanford is Earth Systems 10. Hobbies include reading, anything outdoors, and cooking. Has one sister, Mary, 17. Parents are Kathy and Jim Morawetz. Born in Atlanta, GA.
Why I chose to attend Stanford: The combination of the highest level of academics and California makes for a fun, laid back atmosphere in which to learn; great people; the school has a good feel.
What I love most about rowing for Stanford: My teammates - we push and support one another at practice and have fun after practice.
