- Auburn made its 17th overall trip to the NCAA Tournament and its first since the 2003-04 season. Saturday?™s contest also marked the first time the Tigers have played a postseason contest in California.
- GW and Auburn meet for the second time this season and the third time in the last two years, with the Colonials leading the series 2-0. GW won the last meeting with a three-pointer from Lisa Steele with 1.1 seconds remaining for a 68-66 road win.
- Auburn took its first lead of the contest, 25-24, on a layup from Cassie Moore with 3:55 left in the first half.
- Auburn posted the longest rally of the contest, going 9-0, to take a 29-24 lead in the last five and a half minutes of the first half. The Tigers ended the first half with a 31-29, edge over the Colonials.
- Recapping the first half: DeWanna Bonner (AU) and Antelia Parrish (GW) led all players with 12 points; Both players tied the half-high three rebounds; Five of GW?™s nine field goals were from beyond the arc; Auburn out-rebounded GW 17-12.
- GW went on a 6-2 run to reclaim the lead and widen the gap to five points, 55-50, with 5:20 remaining. The rally feature to traditional three-point conversions by Jessica Adair and Antelia Parrish.
- Kimberly Beck tied George Washington?™s single-season assists record of 197 with her help on Jessica Adair?™s layup (59-54) with 4:15 to play. Beck also takes over the No. 2 spot on the Colonials career steals list with a tally of 293.
- The Colonials produced the largest lead of the contest, 10-points (64-54), on a free shot by Jessica Adair. It was at the culmination of a 9-2 rally for GW.
- The loss for Auburn brings the 2007-08 campaign to an end with a final record of 20-12. It is also snapped the Tigers?™ first round win streak. The Tigers entered the contest with 15 consecutive first round victories. They are now 15-2 in the first round.
- The win for George Washington advances the Colonials to the second round of the 2008 NCAA Tournament and improves their overall record to 26-6. GW is now 13-2 in first round contests. The Colonials will face the winner of the Cal/San Diego match-up.
- Jessica Adair led all players with 17 points and 13 rebounds (her second double-double of the season/12th career)
