Starbird Dazzles As No. 3 Cardinal Survive Scare, 69-66
EUGENE, Ore. -- Kate Starbird scored 30 points and Jamila Wideman added 14 asthird-ranked Stanford squeezed out a 69-66 victory over Oregonto remain undefeated in the Pac-10 Conference.
Olympia Scott had 13 points and seven rebounds for the Cardinal(25-1, 13-0 Pac-10), who shot only 36 percent (21-of-58) fromthe field. Stanford outscored the Ducks 9-0 in the last fourminutes of the first half to build a 36-34 lead.
Arianne Boyer had 15 points and nine rebounds, Renae Fegentadded 14 and nine and Lisa Bowyer scored 10 points for the Ducks(16-6, 9-4), who led 50-43 with 11 minutes remaining, but shotonly 33 percent (8-of-24) in the second half.
The Cardinal went on a 20-9 run, beginning with 7:18 remaining,that lasted until Natalie Hughes hit two free throws with twoseconds to go.
