| A 6'3” guard from The City and Lowell High, Cowden teamed with Don Burness to win the 1942 NCAA Championship. The Indians' team captain played all 40 minutes of the championship final, scoring five points. Following his basketball career he worked for Pan Am Airlines. The three-time varsity player was the last surviving member of the national championship team, passing away at 87 in San Francisco in 2007. | |||||||||||
