| Jackie Brown teamed with fullback Hillary Shockley to form a devastating backfield combination for Stanford. He scored eight touchdowns in 1970 and six more in 1971. A vital member of the 1970-71 teams that put together Stanford’s only consecutive Rose Bowl victories, he ran for two touchdowns in Stanford’s 1971 Rose Bowl win over Ohio State. His famous 33-yard run on a fake punt led to a 24-yard game tying touchdown run in the fourth quarter of 1972 Rose Bowl victory over Michigan. A fine receiver with excellent hands, Brown is regarded as one of the best blockers in the history of Stanford running backs. | |||||||||||
