Giving To Stanford Sailing

Thank you for your interest in the Stanford Sailing Program. Your support helps us remain among the nation's elite sailing programs. There are many ways to show your support:

The Robert Allen Fund - Sailing's Sports Improvement Fund
Sailing's budget relies heavily on the Allen fund. Donations to the fund support the both the team's dat-to-day and competition expenses. That includes both the mundane daily expenses (sails, lines, motorboat gas, boat repairs, etc.) and competition travel expenses, to events near (Cal), far (Navy), and in between (USC). This fund also provides part of the salaries for the coaches and staff.

Program Endowment
The costs of recruiting, team travel, salaries and benefits, et cetera, continue to escalate, some of them faster than the rate of inflation. The long-term solution to offsetting the cost of these expenses is endowment. An endowment fund for the sailing program can be established for $100,000 or more. Each gift of endowment for sailing is invested and earns annual income for the operating budget in perpetuity.

Boat Endowment
As many of you know, equipment takes a beating in our windy venue! In particular, our boats and rigs need constant upkeep for both safety and performance. We have developed a plan to replace our fleet every 5 years by establishing an endowment for regular fleet replacment. Join many of your friends and classmates in supporting Stanford Sailing by naming a boat for perpetuity for $15,000 (payable over 3 years). This will enable Stanford Sailing to have the best fleet in college sailing and lower our annual maintence costs.
