STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford senior Kathy Kroeger was named to the Capital One Academic All-District 8 first team for women's cross country and track and field.
Kroeger, a math and computational science major, carries a 3.94 cumulative GPA. She was among 13 named to the first team, including eight from the Pac-12.
Kroeger is a nine-time All-America in cross country and track. In 2012, she was an Olympic trials finalist in the 5,000 meters and followed with her first Pac-12 individual cross-country championship. She earned All-America honors with a 24th-place finish at the NCAA Championships to help Stanford to third place, its best cross-country finish in five years.
This year, Kroeger was limited to two indoor and two outdoor meets in track and field. She won the 3,000 and was second in the 1,500 in her most recent competition, on April 20, and did not compete in the postseason.
Kroeger is No. 6 on Stanford's all-time list in the 5,000, with a best of 15:33.76.
