Morrissey Earns All-Pac-12 Second Team Honors

STANFORD, Calif.- Sophomore John Morrissey was Stanford's lone All-Pac-12 recipient, earning Second Team accolades as announced on Thursday afternoon by the conference office.

Morrissey, who is ranked No. 50 nationally, owns a 21-13 overall record and is 11-8 in duals, playing all of his matches at the No. 1 spot. Morrissey has been awarded a spot in the NCAA Singles Championship and will be Stanford's only representative on the individual side. He kicked off the year by reaching the round of 32 at the ITA All-American Championships and also advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITA Northwest Regional Championships.

No. 40 Stanford (12-11, 3-4 Pac-12) will be making its 35th all-time NCAA Tournament appearance when first round competition gets underway this weekend. The Cardinal will face No. 20 LSU in Malibu, Calif., on Friday at 10 a.m., with No. 12 Pepperdine hosting UC Santa Barbara at 1 p.m. The winners meet Saturday at 1 p.m. Stanford is opening postseason play away from The Farm for the first time since 2008.
