STANFORD, Calif. - Former Stanford offensive tackle Cameron Fleming was selected 140th overall by the New England Patriots in the 2014 NFL Draft. Fleming, a compensatory selection, was the 40th pick of the fourth round.

An aeronautics and astronautics major hailing from Houston, Texas, Fleming is the first Cardinal offensive tackle selected in the draft since Jonathan Martin’s second-round tabbing to Miami in 2012.

Fleming played 14 games at right tackle for one of the nation’s top offensive lines as a senior. He started the 2013 season on the Outland Trophy watch list and ended up being named All-Pac-12 second team, Sporting News All-Pac-12, Phil Steele All-Pac-12 first team and Athlon Sports All-Pac-12 second team.
A 14-game starter as a junior, Fleming was named All-Pac-12 honorable mention as he helped pave the way for running back Stepfan Taylor’s 1,530 rushing yards in 2012. He also helped the offensive line protect two rookie quarterbacks who each started their collegiate careers 3-0.
As a sophomore, Fleming started 11 games as a part of an offensive line that tied for seventh nationally in fewest sacks/game (0.85). He protected Andrew Luck white the quarterback threw a school-record 37 touchdown passes and paved the way for Stanford to compile 210.62 rushing yards/game (second in Pac-12, 18th in NCAA).
Fleming was named All-Pac-12 honorable mention and Yahoo! Freshman All-America.
