STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford earned a conference-high 10 all-academic honors, as announced by the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Thursday.
It is the sixth consecutive year the Cardinal has led the MPSF in all-academic honors. Stanford’s 10 awards is the most since 2006 when the team earned 12.
Stanford gymnasts who earned honors include Dennis Zaremski (3.916 GPA), Jonathan Deaton (3.865), Michael Levy (3.805), Drew Willoughby (3.650), Brian Knott (3.700), Sean Senters (3.298), Akash Modi (3.238), Taylor Seaton (3.158), Andrew Misiolek (3.148) and Brandon Beckhardt (3.024).
To be eligible for the award, a gymnast must have a 3.0 GPA or better, be at least a sophomore academically and have competed in at least 50 percent of competitions.
Stanford is coming off a second-place finish at the NCAA Championships – the team’s ninth top-three finish in the past 10 years. Five gymnasts combined for 10 All-America honors and Modi, Knott and Senters claimed NCAA event titles.
