STANFORD, Calif. -- Beau Branton and the Stanford baseball team host Silicon Valley counterpart San Jose State Tuesday evening at Klein Field at Sunken Diamond. Branton has helped the Cardinal win seven of its last 12 by hitting safely in 11 straight games.
Stanford (18-23, 5-13 Pac-12) will send Andrew Summerville to the hill. The lefty, who will be making his fourth career start, is 3-1 with a 4.58 earned run average.
The Cardinal look to keep its bats hots after hitting .321 in the series against UCLA's highly-touted pitching staff. Stanford has raised its team batting average 20 points in the last two weeks.
San Jose State, which won in its last visit to Sunken Diamond, has not announced a starting pitcher.
Tuesday marks the last meeting of 2015 between the teams. Stanford won 13-8 behind a season-best 18 hits March 3 at SJSU's Municipal Stadium.
