STANFORD, Calif. – For the second time this year, No. 12 Stanford will race against the No. 1 team in the country as they take on top-ranked Cal in the 82nd Big Row Saturday at Redwood Shores.
Earlier this month the Cardinal raced against No. 1 Washington in the Stanford Invitational and now will get a chance to race the new No. 1 team in the country when Cal comes to Redwood City.
The first men’s race on Saturday will be the frosh eight at 10 a.m. It will be followed by the 2V8 at 10:20 a.m. and the varsity eight at 10:40 a.m. There will be a men’s alumni race at 10:50 a.m. to finish off the day for the men’s squad.
The Golden Bears won all three races against the Cardinal last year at the Big Row. Stanford won the varsity eight race in 2013.
Stanford had last weekend off from racing. The varsity eight has looked good lately with wins in its last four races, including No. 11 Wisconsin and No. 17 Oregon State at the Pac-12 Challenge Apr. 18-19.
