Softblog: Stanford in Seattle

Hello Stanford softball fans! Cheese here, bringing you the latest and greatest from the team!

I hope everyone has had a great couple of weeks. Sorry it’s been so long since the last time you heard from me but I have a lot of great stuff coming your way this week.

As you all probably know, we spent this past weekend in the beautiful city of Seattle. And although the team suffered three tough losses, we continued to have several highlight performances that keep us battling and fighting throughout games.

Hanna Winter had an extraordinary weekend at the plate, batting .600 at the leadoff position. She also secured her spot in Stanford softball history, now third all time in career hits in a Cardinal uniform. Leah White also had a great weekend at the plate, batting .600 as well.

Even with the tough losses, the team was able to really enjoy our trip to Seattle. We spent our first day exploring the city, visiting several landmarks including the Space Needle as well as Pike Place Market.

The following evening was spent at Seattle local Madi Schreyer’s house, where her family spoiled us all with delicious food and entertainment, including from their two adorable huskies.

All in all, we had a great weekend in Seattle. The losses are never fun, but as a team, we are constantly working together to overcome the adversity and we get stronger every day.

We continue conference play this weekend at home against UCLA for a three-game series starting Friday. We’d love to see all of you there, as this will be a very intense series against an always-strong Bruin team. However, if you are unable, please follow the game through the live stats or on Pac-12 Networks.

Have a great rest of your week!

Until next time,

Cheese
