STANFORD, Calif. – Three Stanford players were named to the 2015 CoSIDA Academic All-District Softball Team District 8, as announced by the organization this week.

Kayla Bonstrom, Bessie Noll and Kaitlin Schaberg each claimed the first Academic All-District honors of their careers. The Cardinal is one of three Division-I teams in the country to secure three honors, along with Manhattan and Murray State.

Stanford led District 8 – comprised of teams from Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Canada – with three Academic All-District selections.

Bonstrom holds a 3.60 GPA as an international relations major. She was recently selected to the Center for International Security and Cooperation (CISAC) Interschool Honors Program in International Security Studies to develop a senior thesis with the federal government related to national security.

Bonstrom leads Stanford in every major offensive category this season, hitting a team-high .441 with a .816 slugging percentage. She leads the team in hits (67), home runs (13), doubles (16), RBIs (54), runs (43) and on-base percentage (.552).

Noll boasts a 3.55 GPA as a mechanical engineering major. She is one of the Cardinal’s best defenders in the outfield and has arguably the strongest arm in the Pac-12. Noll has excelled against tough competition, boosting her offensive numbers against ranked Pac-12 opponents.

Schaberg holds a 3.55 GPA as a management science and engineering major. She has been a staple at shortstop for the Cardinal, appearing in 47 of Stanford’s 53 games this season.

The trio advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
