STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford's Snapchat Takeover series continues Wednesday, May 13, when sophomore Taylor Davidson takes viewers behind the scenes and provides an inside look into the life of a student-athlete.

A native of Statesville, N.C., Davidson owns a 27-8 overall record and is 16-3 in duals, playing all but two matches at the No. 2 position. Ranked No. 19 in the country, Davidson was named an All-Pac-12 First Team selection after receiving honorable mention accolades as a freshman. She has won nine of her last 11 matches.
In addition to earning a singles berth at NCAA Championships, Davidson has also booked a spot in the doubles draw with fellow sophomore Carol Zhao. Ranked No. 2 in the country, Davidson and Zhao were voted the Pac-12 Doubles Team of the Year, becoming the first Cardinal duo to earn the honor since Alice Barnes and Anne Yelsey in 2006. Davidson and Zhao have compiled records of 31-6 overall and 15-4 in duals while posting a 16-3 record against nationally-ranked teams. The Cardinal’s top pairing also captured the NCTC Classic title in January.
Making its 34th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, No. 14 Stanford (17-5, 7-3 Pac-12) will face No. 3 California on Friday in the round of 16 in Waco, Texas. The Cardinal has won nine of the last 13 meetings in the series, including a dramatic 4-3 victory in last year’s NCAA round of 16.
Stanford must be considered a national championship contender regardless of seed. The Cardinal, which captured the 2013 NCAA title as a No. 12 seed and won the 2010 NCAA championship as the No. 8 seed, has incredibly won nine of its last 10 postseason matches when seeded lower than its opponent.
Stanford owns a 135-17 all-time record in the postseason since the NCAA Tournament went to its present format in 1982.
