Academic All-District Announced

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford field hockey’s Dulcie Davies was named a Capital One Academic All-District Women’s At-Large Team District 8 selection, as announced Thursday by the organization.

Davies is the only Stanford representative on the women’s academic all-district team. She is now eligible for the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.

Davies – a science, technology and society major with a 3.61 GPA – was a 2014 Longstreth/NFHCA First Team All-American and Longstreth/NFHCA All-Region First Team selection. She was the 2014 NorPac Defensive Player of the Year and NorPac All-Conference First Team honoree. She also excelled in the classroom and earned 2014 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Team honors.

Davies led the country in goals-against average and save percentage nearly every week of the season and finished the year ranked first in save percentage (.813) and second in goals-against average (0.82). She was a two-time NorPac Player of the Week (Sept. 9, Oct. 14), registered a career-best 0.82 GAA and matched her career low of 18 goals allowed.

The Academic All-District Women’s At-Large Teams recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. The teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada with District 8 encompassing Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawai’i, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Canada.
