STANFORD, Calif. -- Klein Field at Sunken Diamond hosts its final series of the year when No. 19 Oregon State visits Friday-Sunday. All three games include promotions for fans, including Fireworks Night on Friday and free t-shirts to the first 500 fans on Saturday.
Stanford (22-28, 7-17 Pac-12) has won six of its last 10 at home and is 13-15 overall at Sunken Diamond in 2015. A sweep would finish the Cardinal above .500 at home.
Oregon State (33-14-1, 14-9-1) comes in as one of the hottest teams in the nation and is looking for its fifth straight Pac-12 series win. The Beavers have allowed just five runs in its last six games while going 4-0-1.
A 20-0 rout of Portland Wednesday, including a program-tying seven homers, give the Bears’ bats momentum into the second-to-last series of the season.
Stanford was also brought power to its last contest, blasting three bombs to beat San Francisco Tuesday. Zach Hoffpauir’s three-run shot in the seventh turned a 5-3 deficit into a 6-5 win.
Oregon State is riding one of the longest winning streaks over the Cardinal in Stanford’s Pac-12 history. The Beavers have won eight straight overall and eight straight at Sunken Diamond.
A three-game series at Washington State ends Stanford’s schedule next weekend. The Beavers host California as they try to lock up a postseason bid.
