STANFORD, Calif. - One week after 19 varsity athletics programs received NCAA Division I Academic Progress Rate Public Recognition Awards, Stanford was once again well represented as 27 teams earned a perfect score of 1,000 for the 2013-14 campaign.

Scores are calculated for each program at each institution. Scholarship student-athletes earn one point each semester for remaining academically eligible and another point each semester for staying in school or graduating. A perfect score is 1,000.

Additionally, 15 Cardinal programs checked in with scores of 1,000 for the multi-year rate, which measures data collected over a span of four academic years, beginning with 2010-11. Stanford leads the Pac-12 with the most teams (15) recognized as being in the top-10 percent of their sport. The next closest school is Arizona State with seven.

Wednesday’s recognition comes on the heels of last week’s announcement that 19 programs (11 men’s, eight women’s) posted multi-year APR scores in the top 10 percent of all squads in their respective sports. Stanford, accounted for more than half of the Pac-12 sports receiving recognition (36).

Among the takeaways from today’s individual APR totals specific to each program:

Of the 27 programs notching perfect scores of 1,000, 13 were on the men’s side and 14 from women’s.

In addition to posting a 1,000 score for the 2013-14 season, baseball was one of 16 programs in the country to register a multi-year rate of 1,000.

Men’s basketball was one of 16 programs in the nation to post a 1,000 score during the 2013-14 campaign. Women’s basketball was one of 28 teams in the country to post a 1,000 score last season. Both Cardinal programs also produced a multi-year rate of 1,000.

Football checked in with a 989 score for the 2013-14 season. The Cardinal’s multi-year rate was 987, which leads the Pac-12 and ranks tied for 12th in the nation.

Fourteen programs generated perfect 1,000 scores in both the 2013-14 campaign and the multi-year rate: baseball, men’s basketball, men’s golf, men’s tennis, men’s volleyball, men’s water polo, wrestling, women’s basketball, women’s fencing, women’s golf, softball, women’s tennis, women’s volleyball and women’s water polo.
