• Parents are Barbara Smith and Terence Burnham
• Has two siblings, Violet and Ivy
• Cousin, Rhiannon Flewelling,  swam at Michigan State
• Cousin, Lindsey Van, is considered a women’s ski jumping pioneer, sued to get ski jumping into the Olympics, 2009 world champion
• Great uncle, John Ecker, played for John Wooden at UCLA 
• Heide Rosendahl, great aunt by marriage, won two gold medals in track and field (long jump, 4x100 relay) and silver in the modern pentathlon, all at the 1972 Munich Olympics for Germany
• Member of the National Honors Society
