• First cousin Hans Henken sailed for Stanford and is a professional sailor
• Became Eagle Scout in 2014
• Founder and president of the St. Mark's Ramp Club, which constructed ramps for disabled and elderly
• Won his high school's Ralph B. Rogers Literature Award in 2013 for outstanding achievement in literature and writing
