• Finished fourth in the Big Meet steeplechase (9:27.39) while running it for the first time.

• Made collegiate debut by running the mile (4:13.72, 23rd) and 4x800 (7:35.71) at the season-opening UW Indoor Preview on Jan. 18.
• Finished 21st in the invite 3,000 at the Penn State National (8:38.80).

Cross Country

• Ran in two races unattached.
• Was 28th overall and No. 9 among all Stanford runners, in 25:39 (8K) at the Stanford Invitational.
• Also was sixth at the Doc Adams Invite (24:32, 8K).

• Won the invitational mile at the 2013 Arcadia Invitational in 4:12.06.
• Completed his high school season by reaching three finals at the Arizona Division I championships.
• Third in the 3,200 (a personal best 9:12.00), fourth in the 800 (1:54.15), and eighth in the 1,600 (4:22.70).
• Lettered three years in soccer at Rincon University High School in Tucson, Ariz.

Personal:

• Son of Juan and Kim Silva.
• Broke two age-group world records for the mile.
• In 2008, ran a 4:43.78 mile in Portland to break the world record for 12-year-olds.
• The record had stood for 40 years.
• In 2010, also at the Portland Track Festival, he ran 4:19.73 to set the record for 14-year-olds
• Has been competing in track and field since age three.
• Has a double major of computer science and symbolic systems, with a focus on artificial intelligence.
• Father played soccer at UC Davis.
• Has a younger brother, Derrick.
