Joey Sementelli has won two NCAA team championships in three years as a volunteer assistant on the Stanford women's swimming and diving coaching staff.

Sementelli joined the Cardinal coaching staff in 2015-16, and has helped tutor 19 different All-Americans to a combined 83 All-America honors. In 2017-18, Stanford won its second straight NCAA title with five American records and eight individual national championships. The Cardinal also became the third team to sweep all five NCAA relay titles, and tied the record for most overall event wins in championship meet history.

Last season, Sementelli helped Stanford to its first NCAA team title in 19 years. The Cardinal had 13 different All-Americans combine for 47 All-America honors, seven individual national championships and three relay titles en route to the largest margin of victory at the NCAA Championships in 14 years.

In his first year on The Farm, the Cardinal finished second at the Pac-12 and NCAA Championships. Stanford boasted six NCAA champions and 10 All-Americans, who combined for 35 All-America honors. In addition, Sementelli worked closely with four Stanford swimmers who competed at the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Sementelli is currently the head coach and owner of Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics (PASA). In all, this is his seventh year with PASA. He spent the first three years as Associate Head Coach / Head Age Group Coach. PASA is recognized as a USA Swimming Gold Medal Club, consistently ranks in the top 10 nationally, and has won multiple Junior National Championships.
 
Prior to PASA, Sementelli coached for Shawmut Aquatic Club in Boston, Mass., for three years. He served as Head Age Group Coach and National Group Assistant Coach. In his final year, Shawmut won two New England championships. Shawmut also ranked as the top club team in the country with under 150 swimmers.

Sementelli swam at UMBC and graduated with a degree in psychology and economics in 2008.
