Devan McConnell enters his third season with the women's basketball program. McConnell is responsible for all aspects of the players' performance enhancement, including speed, strength, power, nutrition and recovery.

In McConnell's two seasons with the Stanford women's basketball team, Cardinal players have earned 15 All-Pac-10 honors, including five first-team selections as well as two Pac-10 Players of the Year in Jayne Appel (2009) and Nnemkadi Ogwumike (2010). Appel was also named to the State Farm Coaches' All-America Team in both 2009 and 2010 while Ogwumike earned her first All-America nod in 2010. The selection of both Appel and Ogwumike to the 2010 team marked the first time in Stanford women's basketball history that two players had been named to the same State Farm Coaches' All-America Team.

Over the past two seasons Stanford has posted a combined record of 69-7 (.908) and reached the Final Four twice.

A native of Seattle, Wash., Devan attended college outside of Boston, Mass. at Fitchburg State College, where he lettered in hockey. After receiving his degree in exercise science in 2008, he worked with Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning, one of the premier private strength and conditioning facilities in America.

In addition to his time coaching in the Boston area, McConnell has also spent time with the Anaheim Ducks and San Jose Sharks of the NHL.

McConnell holds several certifications, including the Performance Enhancement Specialist (NASM-PES), Functional Movement Screen certified level 1, as well as NASM and ACSM memberships.
