Former Syracuse standout Liz Hogan begins her second stint on The Farm, being named the volunteer assistant coach in September 2021. She will enter her first season with the Cardinal in that role for the 2022 season.
"I am so excited to add Liz Hogan to our coaching staff," said Spencer. "Liz and I both grew up in Rochester, New York, and we have known each other for years. Liz is one of the best goalkeepers in the world, a great coach, and a great person. I look forward to her supporting the development of our goalkeepers."
After serving as an assistant coach for the Cardinal in 2015, Hogan returns to The Farm to work directly with the team's goalkeepers in her new role. Stanford won the MPSF regular season and tournament titles that season, advancing to the NCAA Tournament.
A current member of Team USA and Team STX, Hogan has also spent time on the coaching staffs at Colgate (2013) and Virginia Tech (2014). She is also a former WPLL player (2019) and a 2016 UWLX All-Star selection.
A two-time team captain at Syracuse, Hogan was tabbed the 2010 IWLCA Goalkeeper of the Year and an All-American. She was the first goalkeeper in program history to earn first team All-America honors. A four-time All-Big East first-team selection, she is the Orange's all-time leader in saves (660) and ground balls (181).
Hogan earned a bachelor's of science in sports and exercise science along with minors in coaching and psychology from Syracuse in 2011. She received a master's of arts in education (MAED) from Michigan State in 2020.
