STANFORD, Calif. - The Cardinal wins their season home opener againstlong-time rival, UCDavis with an impressive 10-2 romp. This game had special significance -Stanford was defending their 1998 WWLL title. Davis was out for the win,but Stanford was unstoppable. Seven players scored for the win, Hedy Born,Caroline Osterwise (2), Sara Lev (2), Carey Jones, Katharine Barnes, JennySilverman (2) and Liz Britt. This win truly was a team effort. CoachConnor said, "They practiced hard all week and came out a different teamthan they were last Saturday against Cal. It was awesome to watch!"
