DAVIS, Calif. - Stanford went up 4-0 in the first four minutes on the game and never looked back. Our attack was on fire! It was a hot day, the crowd was rowdy because it was Picnic Day at UC Davis, but Stanford prevailed.
The team had to deal with taunting from the fans and angry players, but they channeled their energy and came up with an impressive win. I think that this proves that we are ready for the next challenge.
With this game, Stanford secured the number one position going into playoffs. With this number one position intact, the Cardinal expects to go all the way to the WWLL Final Four being hosted by Stanford May 8/9.
Seniors, Alexis Patrizio, Carey Jones and Stephanie Tuerk all played with heart. As it nears the end of their collegiate careers, it is evident that they will be missed on the field. Patrizio sparked Stanford to the 4-0 lead in the beginning of the game with the game opening goal and one soon to follow. And Jones had a hat trick to start off the second half scoring spree. Goalie Stephanie Tuerk was as solid as ever in the goal.
