Stanford Head Coach Tara VanDerveer
"We had some really silly turnovers. Our inside play helped us a lot and we did a good job from the free throw line."
"(Freshman guard) Kelly (Suminski) was 4-5 tonight. Her poise and the way she carries herself on the court is something that everybody on our team can learn from."
"We have a better understanding how teams will play us. I think that we'll see more zones this year, maybe not with Arizona State on Sunday, but with other teams. Teams may have a tough time matching up with us, which may lead to us playing against zone defenses."
Arizona Head Coach Joan Bonvicini
"They (Stanford) have a fantastic bench with a lot of people who can play. Unfortunately for us we don't have that good of a bench and they just wore us down."
"In the first half we had a lot of turnovers and our rebounding wasn't that great which really hurt us. We were fortunate to go into the half only down by 10. Then in the second half when we would go on a run they would come right back at us."
"We're obviously very disappointed with the loss but the important thing for us right now is to prepare for our game on Friday against California."
"Friday will probably be our biggest game all year. Cal hasn't played a game in about a week and a half and opens up conference play with us. They're a lot better then people think they are and in the Pac-10 you have to be ready for everybody."
