Los Angeles, Ca - The sixth-ranked UCLA men's soccer team upset top-ranked Stanford, 1-0, in overtime on a Jimmy Frazelle goal 1:47 into the extra period.
After a Stanford hand-ball, Adolfo Gregorio launched a free kick into the box. Stanford goalkeeper Robby Fulton punched the ball away, but the clearance went straight to Frazelle, who booted the ball into the back of the net.
The regulation periods were played evenly by both teams. Stanford had a slight 10-6 shot advantage after two periods, but were only able to create three shots on goal, all of which were saved by Bruin goalkeeper Zach Wells. Stanford's best opportunity came at 49:29 when Todd Dunivant hit a hard shot from the left side that was snared by Wells.
The Bruins remain unbeaten against the Cardinal in the last four games.
Stanford falls to 11-2-0, and 2-1-0 in the Pac-10. UCLA's overall record improves to 7-1-2, 2-0-0 in conference action.
Sunday at 2:00 p.m., Stanford travels to Fresno State.
