STANFORD

Head Coach Buddy Teevens

On Defensive Performance
"I thought our defense was physical and aggressive, and they played with confidence. I am pleased with the level of effort in all facets of the game. We challenged Washington State to throw the football and, a number of times, to reset - that was one of the goals we had. There were some penalties offensively that put us behind the chains. We've got to make some critical plays."

On The Team
"We've got a lot of young guys continuing to learn and progress. We did some things that we can build on. They'll make mistakes and continue to grow through them."

On Chris Lewis
"Chris demonstrated the benefit of experience. When he took a hit, he popped back up and kept playing. Chris has done a tremendous job with his attitude. His opportunity to play occurred today, and he took full advantage of it."

Quarterback Chris Lewis

On The Game
"The game went all right. The Washington State defense comes after you. It was really hard, and we needed a game plan. We played well at the end, making catches like we knew we could."

On The Loss
"It was a combination of a lot of things. Washington State was tough; they have a lot of heart. It was a good experience for our younger guys. We're going to bring this experience into next week's game and keep fighting."

On Team Morale
"We're feeling a little frustration right now, because we know we should be doing better. But, we have a good senior base. We're going to count on this rock and keep fighting. To all the fans out there, don't worry - the season's not over yet."
