The Stanford Lightweight Women Won their third consecutive PCRCChampionship in a time of 7:04. Racing into a slight head wind on nearperfect water, the Stanford Lightweight varsity eight fought off a toughchallenge from San Diego State in the first five hundred meters of therace. However, after a strong second five hundred, the CardinalLightweights hit thier stride and never looked back, eventually finishing18 seconds ahead of the Aztecs.

Racing in the same event, The Cardinal JV eight, had their best race of the year, and finished in fourth place in a time of 7:34. Coach Acosta commented, "this was a big step in the rightdirection, the varsity rowed a really aggresive race, and we are alllooking forward to continuing to push in the next few weeks as we preparefor the national championships. The JV was great, they went after it thewhole way. We're thrilled that their last race was their best race of theyear." Next up for the Cardinal Lightweight Varsity is the IRA NationalChampionship on June fifth.
