Men's Soccer Records 0-0 Tie With SDSU In Double Overtime

Stanford, Calif. - The Stanford men's soccer team ended the home regular season with a 0-0 draw with San Diego State in double-overtime this afternoon at Maloney Field. The Cardinal end the year with a 4-10-3 record (1-6-2 Pac-10) while the Aztec wrap things up at 9-2-6 (2-2-5 Pac-10).

Stanford played hard through out the game and outshot the Aztecs 13-6. Sophomore Dan Shapiro (New Haven, CT) led the squad with five shots while sophomore Ryan Imamura (Eugene, OR) added three on the afternoon. Senior Cooper McKee (St. Louis, MO) chipped in two shots as well.

Goalie Andrew Kartunen (San Juan Capistrano, CA) recorded one save during the game while SDSU's Tally Hall was kept busy most of the game and had six.

The Cardinal took three shots in the final overtime, including two in the final 20 seconds of competition.

Stanford tallied 11 corner kicks during the game while the Aztecs took two.

Three Cardinal seniors - Cooper McKee, Bronson McDonald and K.C. Coyne wrapped up their collegiate careers at Maloney Field this afternoon.

Stanford will end the season on the road against California on Sunday, November 13 at 1 p.m. in Berkeley.
