No. 3 Stanford Falls To No. 1 Oklahoma, 217.800-216.900

Norman, Okla. - No. 3 Stanford fell to No. 1 Oklahoma tonight to close the regular season, 217.800-216.900. No. 9 Nebraska finished third with 201.100. The Cardinal earned top finishes on four individual events, with wins from sophomore David Sender on the floor exercise and vault, junior Alex Schorsch on the still rings and Dylan Carney on the high bar.

The Cardinal put two gymnasts in the top three on the floor exercise, led by Sender in first with a score of 9.350. Sho Nakamori (9.250) tied for second on the event with Oklahoma's Jonathan Horton. Junior Dylan Carney finished fifth with 8.850, while sophomore Jason Shen was eighth with 8.600. Stanford finished first as a team on the floor with a score of 36.050

Schorsch claimed his fifth individual victory of the season on the still rings with a score of 9.700. Junior Peter Derman finished third with a score of 9.600 and freshman Bryant Hadden was fourth with a 9.550. The Cardinal took the win on the rings with a team score of 38.300, the squad's highest score this year on the event.

Stanford also finished two in the top three on the vault, again led by Sender with the individual victory and a score of 9.500. Carney tied for second with Oklahoma's T.J.Schmidt with scores of 9.250. Three Cardinal gymnasts tied for eighth on the event, including Shen, senior Sean Doolan and sophomore Eli Alcaraz with scores of 9.000. The Cardinal nabbed a third team win on the vault with a score of 36.750.

On the high bar, Carney earned his fourth victory of the season with a score of 9.650, tying his season best for the fourth week in a row. Downs tied for eighth with 8.850, followed by Shen in ninth with 8.750 and Nakamori in tenth with 8.700.

Sender finished second all-around with a score of 53.950, trailing top-ranked Horton with 54.500.

With tonight's conclusion of the regular season, the Cardinal will compete next at the MPSF Championships on March 24-25 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
