STANFORD
• Stanford had six true freshmen (Brian Bulcke, Sione Fua, Levirt Griffin, Toby Gerhart, Richard Sherman, Austin Yancy) see action after the Cardinal did not play a true freshman in 2005

• Stanford had a total of 20 players make their collegiate debuts

• Toby Gerhart was Stanford's leading rusher (16-55) in his first collegiate game ... Gerhart was a two-sport (baseball, football) prep standout at Norco High School (Norco, CA) from 2002-05, rushing for an amazing 9622 yards in his career to set the all-time California high school record and accumulate the third-highest rushing total ever by a high school player in the nation ... Gerhart rushed for 3233 yards and scored 39 TD's as a senior

• Trevor Hooper finished with career-highs of 12 total tackles and eight solo stops

• Aaron Zagory made his first collegiate field goal attempt from 35 yards out to tie the game at 3-3 with 2:37 remaining in the first quarter but later missed from 32 yards in the third quarter before having a kick blocked and returned 72 yards for the final score of the game with 9:32 to go in the contest

• Mark Bradford tied a career-high nine receptions receptions for 108 yards and one TD ... Bradford finished his four-year career versus Oregon with all-time totals of 26 receptions for 420 yards and a pair of TD's, going over the 100-yard receiving mark in his three of his four games versus the Ducks

• Trent Edwards inched up one spot on three of Stanford's career passing lists, moving into seventh-place on both the all-time total offense (4821) and pass attempts list (743), as well as tying for eighth-place on the career touchdown pass list with the 31st TD toss of his career, a 26-yarder to Mark Bradford with 6:52 remaining in the second quarter

• Ekom and Udeme Udofia became the first pair of brothers to start together in a game for Stanford since Dave and Mike Wyman were both starters in 1983

• Emeka Nnoli, Jim Dray and Austin Yancy all made the first catches of their collegiate careers

• Pannel Egboh (7), Wopamo Osaisai (6), Pat Maynor (6) and Tim Sims (5) all had career-bests in tackles

• Stanford had won five of its last six season-openers before Saturday's loss at Oregon, including the last time the Cardinal opened the season with a Pac-10 game in a 24-10 at Washington State in 2000

• Stanford has now lost five straight games to Oregon, including the last four meetings between the clubs in Eugene, but still hold a commanding 43-26-1 lead in the all-time series between the schools

• The 48 points allowed by Stanford were the most the Cardinal had given up since falling to Notre Dame, 57-7, at Stanford Stadium with today's 38-point margin of defeat also the most since the same Notre Dame contest and the most ever to Oregon

• Stanford had won four of its previous five games on the road before Saturday's loss at Oregon

OREGON
• Today's crowd of 58,450 marks Oregon's 43rd consecutive sellout at Autzen Stadium, the Ducks' 4th-largest crowd ever and the record for an Oregon home opener.

• Oregon head coach Mike Bellotti secured his 91st-career victory today and is now tied with Rich Brooks (1977-94) as the all-time winningest coach at Oregon. Bellotti is now 91-42 as a Duck head coach.

• The Ducks have won 20 of their last 23 season-openers and is 10-2 in opening games under Mike Bellotti. Oregon is also now 15-4 all-time when opening at Autzen and 7-2 in home openers under Bellotti.

• The Ducks have now won five straight contests against Stanford outscoring the Cardinal 184-57 in those contests. Stanford last won in 2001, winning 49-42 at Autzen Stadium.

• The 38-point margin of victory represents Oregon's largest ever against Stanford. The previous margin was 35 points twice: 35-0 in 2003 and 63-28 in 1998.

• Jonathan Stewart rushed for a career-high 168 yards after rushing for just 188 in 12 games a year ago. He surpassed 100 yards on his ninth carry of the game, which came in the 2nd quarter. Stewart also had 54 kickoff return yardage, giving the sophomore 222 all-purpose yards today. Stewart's two rushing touchdowns also matches his career best of two (Stanford, 10/1/05).

• Dennis Dixon completed a career-best 21 passes today and also threw for a career-high 236 yards. He was near-perfect on his last drive of the game, completing 5-of-6 passes for 55 yards.

• Dennis Dixon's two-yard rushing score in the third quarter was his second career rushing touchdown. His last rushing TD came in the 2005 season-opener at Houston.

• Wide receiver Garren Strong also had career bests in receptions 6 and receiving yards 78, while his 29-yard catch in the second quarter was also a career-long.

• Jeremiah Johnson's 79 rushing yards surpassed his previous career best of 63 (Stanford, 10/1/05) and his 52-yard run in the third quarter was a career-long.

• Junior transfer Jeremy Gibbs had (six) tackles, one forced fumble and a blocked kick in his Oregon debut.
