On today's game
"I thought our defense played pretty well and got better as the game went along. That fumble [by T.C. Ostrander in the first quarter] was crucial, because I thought it gave them a short field. However, I thought our defense settled in and played pretty competitive. I thought our special teams - aside from the opening kickoff - played pretty well. Wopamo Osaisai did a great job of covering; that was a tremendous interception off a tip ball. But when it came down to be able to bang, clang and be physical with them, we were not able to do it and that was the game."
T.C. OSTRANDER
On having to replace Trent Edwards early in the game
"I was just trying to run the offense and do my job, try not to do anything spectacular and just do what I can do. I have to watch the film, but obviously I was having some problems holding onto the ball too long."
ARIZONA

On the victory
"It was a really good win on all sides of the ball. Our position on the ball was excellent; we committed ourselves to the rush. The only disappointing part of the game was Adam's (QB Adam Austin) injury."
More on the win
"(Coming into the game) we were in a tough position. These guys beat us last year with only 200 yards of total offense. It was good to see us dominate a game from start to finish. This was a positive move in the right direction. "
On the strategy against Stanford
"We knew they were struggling offensively. We really had a good plan and executed well. Field position was excellent all night. Offensively we wanted to come in and run the ball and we rushed for over 200 yards."
On the running game
"Pretty much all season we've committed ourselves to the run. So that was very pleasing to see, to control the line of scrimmage and run the ball when they knew we were going to run the ball."
On the team's backfield
"We have talented players in the backfield. It was good to see all three run and share the football. I couldn't even tell you who had the most yards because they all contributed and all had pretty decent games. So that was very positive to see."
More on the run
"Everything is setup off the run. You can't win football games with negative yardage rushing. Stanford had negative yardage rushing. We've been in that situation. It's a very uncomfortable and stressful position."
