Seattle, Wash. - Galen Thompson and Dan Shapiro each scored a goal to help the Stanford men's soccer team to a 2-0 road victory over nationally-ranked Washington this evening at the Husky Soccer Field. The Cardinal improve to 4-4-3, 2-0-1 Pac-10, while the Huskies drop to 8-3-0, 1-3-0 Pac-10.

Shapiro put the Cardinal on the board at the 18:57 mark, nailing a 10-yard shot to the far post after receiving a pass from Thompson. The Huskies came just shy of scoring the equalizer in the beginning of the second half, when sophomore midfielder Jo Jo Katz headed the ball just wide of the goal off a cross from Allen.

Then it was four minutes later when Stanford scored their second goal of the game at 51:35. Thompson intercepted a pass in front of the goal and fired the ball past UW goalkeeper Rylan Hawkins.
