There are so many bright spots, primarily Derek Belch, those three field goals in the first half. I was very pleased with the way our team played, and we have a chance to get back at it next week and keep improving."

"We came out, and we did a lot of great things offensively. We didn't do it as well as we can in the first half, but it is a gigantic improvement, and I am so happy for how well the guys up front blocked for me. It was great to have Toby [Gerhart] and AK [Anthony Kimble] run behind me and knowing that I can just hand the ball off to those guys and make a lot of things happen. We still have some things to work on next week, but I am very proud of this effort."

"Well we were awful, we were badly coached. We were a bunch of prima donnas. We just don't compete. We are going to practice at 6:30 in the morning. Full gear. Anybody not there is cut and any coach who is not there is fired. We've got a short time to put this thing together but right now were just the [blank]. Stanford's really improved their game and that just shows how much better their coaches are then we are. How much better their players are than we are. They've done a great job. I commend coach Harbaugh and his staff."
On Comparisons To Arizona State Game
"No, this is a lot worse [than Arizona State]. Because we had a chance to look at some film and try to get better. But it was a group effort. It started with the head coach."
On What The Primary Problems Are
"It's not about the offense. It's not about the offense or the defense; it's just about playing with character, playing with toughness, playing with pride. And were not doing any of that. We can't block, we can't tackle, we don't compete well, and we don't coach well. But were not going to let that be the status quo. As I said were going to start and 6:30 in the morning, and it's a closed practice."
On What They Did At Halftime
"I don't want to talk about halftime. I don't want to talk about any particulars of the game ... We were badly out coached. We were badly outplayed, we're not worth a [blank] right now. And we're going to try to do something about it. Period."
