WAIKOLOA, Hawaii- The Stanford men's golf team shot a first round score of 275 today at the UH-Hilo Invitational at the Waikoloa Village Golf Course. Today's performance has put Stanford in a tie for fifth place out of 18 teams.

Arizona State and Texas Tech are currently tied for first, with a score of 271, Oregon State is in third with 273, and USC resides in fourth with 274.

Out of 90 total golfers, Stanford has three men in the top 30. Senior Rob Grube is tied for second overall with Georgia Tech's Cameron Tringale, posting a 5-under-par 65. Freshman Sihwan Kim is tied at No. 20, shooting a 69, and sophomore Jordan Cox is tied at No. 29 scoring par for the day.

Arizona State's Stephan Gross is the sole man atop the leaderboard just one stroke ahead of Grube.

Play will continue tomorrow with the second of three rounds.
