Mark Marquess won his 1299th career game to move within one victory of 1300 and the No. 10 spot on the all-time win list for NCAA Division I head coaches.

Erik Davis pitched his second consecutive complete game, won his third contest in a row and tied a career-high with 9.0 innings pitched.

Sean Ratliff extended his hit streak to a career-high-tying 13 games, homered for the fifth time in his last seven contests, had an extra-base hit for the eighth consecutive contest and an RBI for the seventh straight game.

Randy Molina extended his career-high hit streak to nine games.

Stanford put itself into position to extend its regular season three-game series win streak to nine.and avoid dropping a home series to Arizona State for the first time since 1997 with a victory on Sunday. Stanford has not lost a rubber game (4-0) or three-game series finale (5-0) in 2008.

Stanford remained a perfect 9-0 on weekends in 2008 with a 6-0 record on Saturdays and a 3-0 mark on Sundays.

Jason Castro tied career-highs with four hits and three runs scored.

Zach Jones tied a career-high with three hits.

Stanford continued to be much better in day games (11-3) than in night contests (3-6) this season.

Stanford also has been much better against ranked teams (7-3) than unranked squads (7-6) in 2008.
