Final Team Scores
SAN MARTIN, Calif. -
The eighth-ranked Stanford men’s golf team posted its second consecutive score of 368 in today’s third and final round of The CordeValle Classic to finish the tournament and close out fall action in second place with a 26-over 1106.
The Cardinal was unable to catch third-ranked USC, who jumped out to a lead on the first day and never conceded it, finishing with par for the course, 1080.
Sophomore Sihwan Kim and junior Joseph Bramlett each preserved top-10 finishes individually. Beginning the day at one-under-par, Kim was looking good on his first three holes of the day, making par twice and sinking one birdie, but suffered a double-bogey on the 13th hole that put him back to even. He made up two strokes on the front nine in the afternoon, but could not overcome eventual co-champions Tim Sluiter (USC) and Nick Taylor (Washington). Kim finished with a two-under-par 214, two strokes out of first.
Bramlett finished in sixth place with par, and shot par in the final round. He made three consecutive birdies on holes 12 through 14, and averaged 72 strokes over three rounds.
Junior Jordan Cox posted an excellent outing as an individual competitor, tying for 10th with a two-over 218. Cox scorched the back-nine, dropping four birdies on his way to a one-over 73 on the day.
Rounding out the rest of the pack, freshman David Chung finished in a tie for 33rd, with an 11-over-par 227. Seniors Daniel Lim, Dodge Kemmer, and sophomore Steve Ziegler all completed the tournament in a tie for 37th, with a 12-over-par 228. Kemmer shot his best round of the tournament on the final day, recording a one-over 73.
Fall competition for Stanford is now complete and the Cardinal will have until February to prepare for the spring season. The next scheduled tournament is the Taylor Made Waikoloa, a three-day event in Kona, Hawaii from Feb. 4-6.

The eighth-ranked Stanford men's golf team trimmed two strokes off of yesterday's round, shooting a eight-over-368. Combined with yesterday's total of 370, the Cardinal have a cumulative total of 18-over-par 738, and are in second place with one round left the play.
The Cardinal trail leader USC, the third-ranked team in the nation, by 19 strokes. The Trojans have put together an outstanding one-under-par 719 for a commanding lead over the rest of the field.
Sophomore Sihwan Kim and junior Joseph Bramlett have been the top performers for Stanford after two rounds. Kim dropped out of a tie for first and into sixth place at the conclusion of today's round after shooting a two-over-74. Kim couldn't match yesterday's three-under showing, but did get his second eagle of the tournament on the 18th hole. He is only three strokes behind current leader, USC's Tim Sluiter.
Bramlett is right on Kim's heels in a tie for seventh, and has carded an even 144 over two rounds. He started a little slow on the back nine to begin today's round, but dominated the front nine, sinking four birdies and four pars to finish out the day just one over par.
Freshman David Chung turned in a solid performance, hitting par on every hole except two to go two over par on the day. Chung is tied for 20th place with a five-over 149.
Sophomore Steve Ziegler picked up his game today, slicing off seven strokes from his previous day's score to put him in a tie for 44th with a nine-over 153.
Junior Jordan Cox, who is competing as an individual, has also been representing Stanford well. Cox posted a one-under-par today, which combined with yesterday's score of 75 filters him into a tie for 10th place at two-over-par 146.
The Cardinal is paired with the Trojans for tomorrow's third and final round, and will tee off from the first hole at 9:12 a.m. Cox will be a part of the last group to tee off, beginning from the 10th hole at 9:48 a.m.. Live scoring is available at Golfstat.

Sophomore Sihwan Kim and junior Joseph Bramlett both hit well enough today to find a place in the top-10 on the individual leaderboard following today's opening round of the CordeValle Collegiate, helping the eighth-ranked Stanford men's golf team into a tie for third place with two rounds left to play.
The Cardinal battled soggy and windy conditions on its way to a 10-over-par 370, thirteen strokes behind third-ranked leader USC, which was the only school to notch an under-par cumulative score after 18 holes. Charlotte stands between Stanford and the Trojans in second with a seven-over-par 367.
Kim, last year's CordeValle Classic individual champion, carded a three-under-par 69, and is tied with USC's top-ranked Matthew Giles. Kim birdied the fifth hole before he eagled the sixth hole, and then sank two more birds on the back-nine.
Bramlett, ranked 14th in the country, also performed solidly, dropping four birdies and earning a one-under-71, good enough for a tie for 6th place.
Freshman David Chung and seniors Daniel Lim and Dodge Kemmer also contributed to the Cardinal's total on the day. Chung shot a three-over-75, Lim a five-over-77, and Kemmer a six-over-78. All three are in the top-50 on the leaderboard.
Also, competing as an individual, junior Jordan Cox is currently tied with teammate Chung for 30th place. Cox's score is not included in the team's total.
Stanford is paired with Arkansas for tomorrow's second round, and will tee off at 9:12 a.m. from the 10th hole. Live scoring is available at GolfStat.
