COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Stanford went one-for-two today in the NCAA Men's Singles tournament at Texas A&M, as sophomore No. 21 Alex Clayton was victorious in his first round match but freshman No. 34 Bradley Klahn was eliminated.

Clayton improved to 30-10 overall on the season after defeating Baylor's No. 45 Jordan Rux in three sets. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla. native dropped the first set, but stormed back with a 7-5 win in the second and took the match with a 6-4 win in the third.

Clayton will now take on third-ranked Bryan Koniecko of Ohio State, who defeated Florida's Carlos Cueto 6-3, 6-2, tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. CT.

Although Klahn fell, he did not let No. 9 Steven Moneke take the match easily. The ITA Rookie of the Year took Moneke to two straight tiebreakers, but couldn't get over the hump, falling 7-6(6), 7-6(5). Klahn finishes the season with a 35-9 overall record (20-5 dual, 19-8 vs. nationally-ranked opponents).
