Duo Wins Sunday's Diving Events at UCLA

LOS ANGELES-- Meg Hostage and Brent Eichenseer each won their individual events on day two of the Bruin Invite, as Hostage won the one-meter event ahead of teammate Carmen Stellar, and Eichenseer won the three-meter dive.

Hostage scored a 308.55 on the one-meter event, after finishing second to Stellar in the prelims. Stellar's final round score of 290.40 was her third second place finish of the two-day event. Stellar had tallied a mark of 266.95, ahead of Hostage's score of 263.55 in the first round.

In the only men's event, Eichenseer had the best score in the prelims (351.25) and the finals (335.00). Freshman Tommy Fraychineaud scored 269.70 in the finals for third place, falling less than a point behind second place Adam Geunario (UConn) and his 270.30 score.

The full Stanford swim squads will be in action next weekend when they host Arizona on Friday and Arizona State on Saturday. The Stanford men are No. 2 nationally and the Arizona men are No. 4, while on the women's side, Arizona is No. 2 and Stanford is No. 3, separate by a mere four points.
