Stanford, Calif. - Stanford celebrated senior day with a 3-0 win over Oregon State on beautiful, sunny afternoon at Cagan Stadium. Head coach Bret Simon started all seven seniors and it paid immediate dividends with two early goals.

A pregame ceremony honored Stanford seniors, Shaun Culver, Cameron Lamming, Daniel Leon, Thiago Sa Freire, Ryan Thomas, Bobby Warshaw and Dominique Yahyavi.

"It was a great day from our seniors, who had big contributions," said Simon. "Today they showed their true colors."

The seniors wasted no time getting Stanford the lead as Yahyavi made it 1-0 in the fifth minute. The goal came off a corner by Thomas that Culver was able to control in the box and layoff to Yahyavi. The goal for Yahyavi was his team-leading sixth of the season.

Just 10 minutes later, Thomas would get a goal of his own on a blast from distance. Garrett Gunther played Thomas the ball and his shot from 25 yards found the lower corner of the goal. It was his first goal of the season and just the second of his career.

The Cardinal would add to its lead in the 40th minute when Dersu Abolfathi would find the back of the net. Eric Anderson played a ball to Abolfathi in the box and the Cardinal sophomore was able to make a turn and shoot into the corner.

The 3-0 lead at the half was preserved by Jason Dodson, who made three saves in the half, including a great reaction save on an Oregon State attacker that got free on a cross. Dodson made five saves overall, before giving way to Galen Perkins for the final 15 minutes.

The Cardinal continued to play well in the second half, creating more opportunities. Stanford had six more shots in the half, but did not find the back of the net.

Perkins locked down the shutout in goal, the sixth on the season for Stanford.

The Cardinal will now have a bye week, before ending the regular season at California on November 11.
