LONG BEACH, Calif.-- Stanford swept the top three spots in the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke, while John Criste set a meet record twice in the 100 breaststroke to highlight the Cardinal on the second day of the Long Beach Arena Invite.
Criste's time of 53.37 was six-tenths of second better than his preliminary time of 53.97 in the 100-yard event, posting a B standard in the process.
In the 200 free, Rob Andrews led led wire to wire, as the first of five straight teammates to post B standard times, leading with a time of 1:35.67.
The 100 back was also filled with the Cardinal as Matthew Swanston led the field with a time of 48.51, ahead of teammates Andrew Saeta (49.31) and Geoff Cheah (49.45).
Matt Thompson was also a winner in the 400 IM, posting a time of 3:48.90, as Josh Charnin-Aker was third at 3:53.19.
Stanford's Bobby Bollier was third in the 100 fly with B standard timeof 47.84 one of five secondary standrds in the race.
Stanford closed out day two by winning the 800 free relay with Bollier and Stoehr sandwiching David Mosko and Rob Andrews for a time of 6:32.36.
Stanford has now won nine of 12 events heading into the final day of the Arena Invite. Stanford divers continue competition in Tucson at the Wildcat Invite through Sunday.
