BERKELEY, Calif. -
A season of excellence for Ashley Morgan got even better as the Stanford sophomore scored a career-best 9.95 on the floor exercise to extend her winning personal streak in the event to eight.
Morgan’s score was one of five 9.9’s or above for Stanford. Among her teammates, perhaps the most impressive was the 9.90 by junior Nicole Pechanec making her collegiate vault debut.
The score placed Pechanec in a tie for second with Alyssa Brown, who earned two 9.90’s in the meet, including her runner-up score on the uneven bars, just ahead of Stanford senior captain Danielle Ikoma, who scored a career-high 9.875.
Teammate Shelley Alexander tied her career-best of 9.90 to place third on the floor.
