REDWOOD SHORES / ANNAPOLIS-- Stanford Sailing skippered a perfect second day on the Redwood Shores to win its own McIntye Intersectional, while on the East Coast at the Graham Hall Team Race, Stanford won the Silver Division with an 11-3 mark.

Among the top-six teams on its home course, Stanford was perfect, at 5-0, against Hawai'i, UC Irvine, the Coast Guard Academy, UC Santa Barbara and UCLA. Overall during the two-day event, the Cardinal were 14-1 with skippers Kevin Laube, Sally Mace and Mateo Vargas. Coast Guard was second with a 10-2 mark.

Across the nation, Stanford skippers Nick Dugdale, Ben Pedrick and Oliver Toole, went 6-1 in the second round of the Silver Division and were 11-3 overall following a 1-6 start. New York Maritime and Vermont were second with nine wins a piece between the initial bottom eight teams in the standings. Boston College won the Gold Division between the top-eight teams.

The McIntyre race is named after Jeremy McIntyre was a Stanford captain and All American.  He tragically passed away in a skiing accident in Whistler in 1999.  This event is sailed in his memory.  After sailing on Saturday the whole regatta went to a dinner where friends and coaches of Jeremy  told stories of his life.

Team races is a race between three boats per team in a round robin format. The winner of each race is the lowest combined score among the three boats against its opponent.
