MEN'S QUOTE
Boris Conkic, Tennessee
"Our opponents served really well today. We had a hard time staying in their service game in the beginning. They got an early break, and we got it back somehow halfway through the first set. The tiebreaker was really close, and we made one or two returns more than them, and I think that one us the set."

"We definitely got better reads on their serves as the match went on. Also, we got a feel for the courts because we have been playing on different courts the past two or three days. These are a little faster, and it took us a few games to get used to it. It was a little tough in the beginning, a little tight and stiff, I would say. We got back in the second set, and I think tomorrow we will be good to go."

WOMEN'S QUOTE
Cal Head Coach Amanda Augustus
“I think it was a good start to the tournament. It was sort of a straightforward type of match but it was a hard time of day to play with all the shadows on the court. That Tennessee team is a great team, and plays an aggressive net-style offense, so I was glad that we had to face that in the first round because it will help prepare them for that type of play down the road.”
