SANTA CLARA, Calif. - It was two games, two wins for No. 3 Stanford men's water polo at the Bronco Stampede in Santa Clara Saturday, as the Cardinal racked up scores of 15-1 and 19-3 over No. 17 Bucknell and Harvard, respectively.

Stanford (12-3) closes the weekend with two more games at the Bronco Stampede, held at Santa Clara University's Sullivan Aquatic Center, taking on Brown at 12 noon and No. 18 Air Force at 4 p.m.

Peter Sefton had the big day for the Cardinal, scoring seven goals over the two wins. Alex Bowen scored five times, including hat trick against Harvard, while Travis Noll and Paul Rudolph each scored four times. Noll and Rudolph, along with Bowen and Sefton, each posted hat tricks in the late win over Harvard.

Brian Pingree anchored a defensive effort that allowed just four goals on the day. Pingree made nine saves Saturday and Hunter Ploch saw action against Harvard, stopping a shot.

Sefton netted four of his goals in the opener, scoring twice in the second frame. Pingree and the Stanford defense limited the Bison to just one goal, that coming in the second half.

In the final period, Ian Gamble and Austin Trinkle closed out the scoring for the Cardinal.

Bowen and Forrest Watkins each scored twice in the win, while Noll, Rudolph, Alex Avery, Andrew LaForge and Jacob Smith each scored a goal as well.

The afternoon contest against Harvard opened just as the morning one did, with Stanford ahead 6-0 after the first period. The Cardinal onslaught continued with seven more goals in the second frame, giving Stanford a 13-1 halftime edge.

Stanford would go on to score six more times against just twice for the Crimson to account for the final tally. Along with the hat tricks from Bowen, Noll, Rudolph and Sefton, goals were scored by Avery, Gamble, Smith, Watkins, Sam Finlayson, Ryan Kent and Eric Wright.

Pingree and Ploch each played a half in the cage in the afternoon.
