Stanford alumnus Bridget Finn spent one season as an assistant coach at Stanford in 2006-07. The former Olympian returned to The Farm assist in a variety of aspects of team training and choreography.

"Bridget has always been passionate about Stanford synchro, and I was thrilled she was interested in the assistant coach position," said head coach Heather Olson at the time of Finn's hiring. "We already have a strong rapport after swimming together for many years. I know it is going to be a smooth transition for the team and am looking forward to another great year."

Finn, who graduated from Stanford in 1997, was one of the synchronized swimming program's first scholarship athletes. The Buffalo, NY, native represented the Cardinal for four years, and competed her senior year with Olson during the 1997 season.

Following her career at Stanford, Finn trained for the 2000 Olympics. With Olson, she went on to compete with the team that took fifth at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia.

"Bridget has great ideas for routine choreography and is also a great technical coach," said Olson. "Her experience as a Stanford athlete makes coaching here an easy fit."

Finn retired from the sport after the 2000 Olympics and began a career as a journalist in San Francisco. She has since been working as a writer and editor for Business 2.0 and as a Web editor for strategy+business.
