CHICAGO – Former walk-on David Parry was selected in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. Parry was the 15th pick of the round, 151st overall and the second Cardinal defensive lineman taken by Indianapolis, joining third-round selection Henry Anderson.

The fifth-year senior and political science major from Marion, Iowa, helped anchor the Stanford defensive line during his career on The Farm. 

Parry played in 12 games in 2014 and amassed 34 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, and 4.5 sacks. He had five quarterback hurries and one sack against Washington State, six tackles and one sack against Cal, and four tackles and 1.5 sacks against UCLA.

A Burlsworth Trophy semifinalist, Parry was a Pac-12 All-Academic first team selection and All-Pac-12 honorable mention pick.

As a senior, the Burlsworth Trophy candidate played in all 14 games, finishing with 23 tackles (11 solo) and 5.0 tackles for loss. Parry had four tackles against Army and Washington, and three solo stops and a tackle for loss against Michigan State in the Rose Bowl. He was named to the Pac-12 All-Academic second team.

Parry also played in 14 games as a junior, registering a season-high five solo tackles in his first start against UCLA. He also had a fourth-quarter sack and deflected a pass against the Bruins. In the Rose Bowl win against Wisconsin, Parry contributed three solo tackles. Parry also earned Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention.

As a sophomore, Parry played in 13 games in a backup role and made six tackles (three solo).
